Ben Ofoedu (Boys On Block)
As a youngster, Ben enjoyed success as a member of the teen heart-throb band Benz who were signed to RCA, and supported Take That on their legendary last tour. Although Benz had four Top 40 hits and built up a large fan base, Ben felt he wanted a change in musical direction.
In the beginning of 1999 Ben joined up with PHATS & SMALL. The debut single "Turn Around" topped a massive two million sales worldwide. The follow up "Feel Good" also went straight into the Top 10 in the U.K. National Charts as did their third single "Tonite".
He is a great performer having had plenty of experience; with Benz he toured all over the UK, supported Take That and Boyzone and performed at Mizz Magazine, Smash Hits, Radio One and Capital Radio Roadshows.
Since shooting into the limelight together in March 1999, the band won awards for 'Best P.A. Of The Year' (Disco International Awards), 'Single Of The Year' (Muzik Magazine), received two MOBO nominations and performed at the Royal Albert Hall at the ceremony show.
They were also nominated at the 'Brits', they played at Wembley Stadium before an Arsenal Champions League game, P.A'd all over Europe and played at shows for every major radio station.
Ben has been a guest on T.V's Never Mind The Buzzcocks, has presented for MTV on several occasions, and has appeared many times on shows such as Top Of The Pops, Pepsi Chart Show and CD:UK.
Ben also went on to enjoy chart success with another dance act called 'The Intenso Project,' which also landed him a weekly music pundit slot on Channel 4's Rise Breakfast Show.
