There are very few DJ's in the world that can attest to the same level of versatility as DJ@War. Devastating dancefloors in both prestigious dance sanctuaries and exclusive VIP havens in over 25 countries worldwide, DJ@War has the accolades that show that he can truly rock any crowd, anywhere in the world. Further to the fact that as a producer his tracks have released on some of the biggest dance labels in the world (Ministry of Sound, Toolroom & more), earning support from the likes of Fedde Le Grande, Michael Woods, David Guetta, and many others.
But even with his newfound success as a producer, the place where DJ@War shines brightest is behind the decks on the international stage, whether rocking with the likes of Porter Robinson at Sankeys in England (DJ Mag's #7 club in the world), headlining for Pacha in Malta, or dropping the bass at Elune in South Korea. DJ@War's taste for electronic music is wide-ranging….from electro dancefloor destroyers to progressive, latin, and tech house.
Where things get even more interesting is when DJ@War is asked to perform one of his "anything goes" sets, ranging from hip-hop to rock, 80's pop, and everything else in between. DJ@War has a wealth of experience on the global VIP DJ circuit, entertaining for A-list celebrities and corporate brands at some of the most prestigious VIP hangouts in the world, including M1nt (Shanghai), Chinawhite (London), and Indochine (Zurich). He's been called upon for private events for some of the most famous celebrites in the world- Rihanna at Bungalow 8 (London) and Jay-Z at Chinawhite (London Brits Afterparty 2010), not to mention his corporate resume, which includes parties for Smirnoff in Kenya, Moet in Switzerland, and Adidas in the UK.
As a producer DJ@War found doors opening naturally for him. His most recent project found him releasing 7 tracks on Ministry of Sound with the album "Jaguar Skills & His Amazing Friends." The album was a great success, solidifying itself at #2 in the UK Itunes Dance Chart and propelling DJ@War into the spotlight as an electronic music producer. With previous releases under his belt on Toolroom and Downright (Ministry of Sound Australia), DJ@War has found his tracks in the playlists of legends like Eric Morillo, Eddie Halliwell, and Adam F amongst others. Not bad for someone that only started making music in 2009!
Born and raised in the USA, DJ@War (born Joshua Hodge) used music as escapism from a rocky childhood. The skating rink was refuge for Josh, providing that early influence of old school electro, hip-hop, and rock that would serve as the bedrock for his passion. Serving in the US Air Force brought Josh from the USA to England, where he stayed after separating in 2005. Shortly after, he entered the DMC DJ Competition, battling his way to the US Finals in 2006. Winning several national DJ competitions spurred Josh's career forward into the international DJ and producer he is today.
Recently coming off a 12 date UK tour with Jaguar Skills (BBC Radio One), DJ@War is jumping straight back into the studio to finish his single with Tom Piper for Downright Records, along with a collaborative EP with Jaguar Skills. With these upcoming releases coupled with a hectic tour schedule, the DJ@War movement is rapidly growing and shows no signs of slowing.
